I've been writing since I was a little girl.  Notes turned to diaries then to journals.   It was a breast cancer diagnosis that made me realize my words could help others. That day, I started writing my first book. I've spoke on panels, been interviewed on radio and talked to many, many women who were going through this same battle.  My book was something I wanted to give to the world in hopes it would help even one person.

I Never Quit Trying

A Breast Cancer Survivor's Story

by Ruthie Lanigan

In my second book, I write about the experience of unconditional love, the Magic of the Universe and a deep respect of nature that was gained during my first 5 years of life.

By the time I was ten, I had experienced an extremely abusive household and had been emotionally abandoned by my mother. The death of my father was the biggest loss though. He died when I was ten and was unable to protect me from the things that harmed her. By age fourteen, I was pregnant. By fifteen, I was married with a baby.  And by sixteen I was a widow.

When it comes to trauma, I've pretty much seen it and experienced it all. Yet, I'm happy and I love life! My trust in the Universe has kept me going and protected me from turning the traumas into deep anger.

Life is a to be enjoyed and celebrated.
