Today, I really tried to start my meditation practice. How did it go?? I had to laugh at myself.


-I went into my closet where it was dark and quiet.

-I set the timer for 5 minutes (no judgement for such a short time!)

- I closed my eyes and hit the start button

Then the internal dialogue happened!


“Did I check to make sure the timer started?

Stop! Focus!

OM…..

I hope the cat doesn’t walk in and rub against me.

Stop! Should I have closed the door?

OM…

This is so nice. I should journal about how grateful I am for meditation.

Stop!! OM….

I should write a blog about this meditation. It would be funny, right?

OM….

Finally, the timer went off.

Should I change the sound of the timer”


Then I opened my eyes and laughed. I definitely need more practice in my meditation “practice”!
