Postcards from Bali - Chillin'

The last two days have been pure heaven. I'm going to summarize and post a lot of photos. The group is all gone so I am by myself for the next two days.
Yesterday (the group's last day) we went to the Indian Ocean. It was about a 30 minute drive through some really narrow roads. Especially for a bus. But it was worth it! The water was warm and beautiful. The sounds of the waves coming in were calming and I could have sat there for hours.

Then, last night we had a farewell dinner since everyone was leaving. Our tour manager arranged it and it was really nice.
At one point, Awan said he had entertainment lined up but they cancelled. But... he said he had someone else that could fill in! He came out with a sax and played for us. Very poorly! But it was fun. He laughed and told us he would keep practicing!

The above photo is all of our guides for the trip. Murjana is the one that took me to his village to visit the healer.
Today I had breakfast with some of the group that didn't leave until today. Saying goodbye is always hard when you've formed real connections. I connected with so many women my age on this trip. And they were an amazing group of strong women! I am honored to have met them all! Martha, Melanie, Pam, Kat, Jenny, Shauna, GiGi....... the list goes on. No tears though, just appreciation for all of them!
After breakfast I had a 90 minute massage appointment. It appears to be tradition in Bali that before you start your massage, they wash your feet. I looked it up and here's what I found.
Respect and care — In Balinese culture, rituals of cleansing are important. Washing your feet is a gentle way of welcoming you and helping you transition from the outside world into a calmer, more peaceful state.
Energetic cleansing — Bali blends Hindu traditions with spiritual practices, and many people believe water helps clear away heavy energy, stress, or tension before healing work begins.
Practicality — Of course, Bali is warm and tropical. People walk around in sandals constantly, so washing the feet also keeps the massage space clean and comfortable.
Relaxation signal — There’s something psychologically soothing about it. The warm water, flowers, oils, or salts immediately tell your nervous system: you can let go now.
Again, the massage was heaven and they gave me tea and snacks afterward!

Then I went to the pool for a few hours and hung out by myself. Now, I'm sitting here blogging, looking at the water and feeling that Bali breeze.
I keep seeing these birds. Not sure what they are but they look like miniature bald eagles. I'm going to have to look them up. And they love the water in the infinity pool!
Tomorrow is my last full day here. I'm definitely missing home but also sad to say goodbye to Bali. It's been an experience!
Tonight, I think I will have a light dinner on the beach. I got a little too much sun today and just want to take it easy.
Love to all!
