COVID-19 ARPIL 3 2020
Today I woke up to these Tennessee statistics: 3,067 confirmed cases of COVID-19 37 deaths
Well today was the day we were supposed to leave for Thailand. We were supposed to spend about 8 days in Thailand and about 5 days in Vietnam. We had so many plans.
One of the things I was really looking forward to was the market. There is a market in Thailand that has a train track running through the middle. When the train is coming, the vendors draw their canopies in and clear their goods from the track. After the train goes by, everything gets put back into place and it’s business as usual.
Instead, we worked all day and at the end of the day we took a four mile walk. Then we came home and had dinner.
Today I found out that the State Parks in Tennessee have all closed. Unfortunately, I agree that this needed to happen. Although people are trying to “socially distance” it’s really not working. Even walking around our neighborhood, it’s hard to not stop and talk to people. And shake hands or just get close. Who knew how often we get close to each other! People need closeness and right now we just have to stop.
I love all of my family and friends so much but I’m staying away (except Jim of course)!
Thailand and Vietnam will be there when we come out of this on the flip side. Our travels will pick back up and the Minigan’s Travel Adventures will begin again. Until then, we will enjoy our own little piece of heaven right here in Nashville. And we’ll talk to all of you lovely people through telephone, facetime, text or email or Facebook.
Love to you all!
