COVID-19 ARPIL 5 2020

Today I woke up to these Tennessee statistics: 3,633 confirmed cases of COVID-19 44 deaths

If you wonder why I say I want to be positive, yet I continue to post these horrific numbers every day it is because in the future, I want to look back and remember. I have never lived through anything like this and I want to come out the other side respectful of what happened and remembering the good things that came of it.

Although most of the talk of the tornado has quieted, there are many people still thinking of it. I drive past damaged or destroyed areas any time I am out and about. It’s still very real. Today Jim ran across this link to a song that Old Crow Medicine Show recorded . Amazing! We have tickets to see them at the Ryman on New Year’s Eve with friends. Hopefully this will still happen. Take a listen and watch the video!

I started my day with a 5 mile walk. I’ve been getting more exercise these days and I really enjoy it. My walks are so relaxing and sometimes even funny. Yesterday I walked past a house with a man and woman sitting behind a table in front of their garage. As I walked toward the house, people that drove by kept honking. I couldn’t wait to see what the sign said. As I approached I was able to see that the sign said “Honk and We’ll Drink”. So as I passed, I put my arms up in the air and yelled HONK! The man yelled back, “Good enough!”. It was quite funny.

Today my walk was very peaceful. No fun drinking games going on. I found a rock on the trail that someone had painted in remembrance of the tornado. The stream that runs along the trail was especially picturesque today also. After 5 miles I was done. I came back to the house and Shelby and I sat on the back patio and baked in the sunshine. It felt so good. Shelby actually napped while I listened to a podcast.

It was a very nice, relaxing day for me. Jim, on the other hand, spent the last two days cleaning and waxing the cars. They look beautiful and I really appreciate all the hard work he put into making them look so good.

Tomorrow it’s back to work (in the dining room of course). I think it will be an early night tonight. We’ll leave the windows open a bit to let the fresh air get in which will make for a good night sleep.

Remember to check in on others. Remember to be thankful for all you have. Remember to be the magic for someone.

Love to all!
