Goin’ With Plan B

Today was a “Plan B” day and it turned out amazing. The original plan was to fish early in the morning and snorkel in the afternoon… with some yoga in the middle. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. There was no rain but the waves were too strong and it would not have been safe.

Instead, we hung out. We walked around, we read, and ate. Yoga was still on the agenda so most of our group attended the class. I did not. Do I regret not doing yoga while looking out at the ocean in another country? Yes. Well, kind of. I probably should have done it but I was so happy with no commitments or time schedules. Everyone raved about the class though so I’m sure the next time I am there I will be doing yoga.

Lunchtime rolled around and we decided to take a walk down the road and eat at LTU. This place has a great atmosphere and a great view. It is an outside restaurant/bar that sits on the cliffs overlooking the ocean.

We had snapper sandwiches, and coconut shrimp as an appetizer. The food was amazing. And then there was the Dirty Banana drink. Oh my gosh that drink is so good it should be illegal. It also goes down really easy so I limited myself to one.

Our walk back was fun. We stopped at Rick’s Cafe, which was right next door to LTU. Rick’s is well known for having great cliffs to jump from. I think the highest is 35 feet. Jim jumped a couple years ago when we were there and said it was quite the thrill. It’s always fun to watch people climb up to the ledge and face their fear of jumping. There are great caves you can swim into once you jump also.

After leaving Rick’s, we stopped at the “grocery store”. I’m not even sure how to describe it but they have spices and alcohol and some canned stuff and rolling papers and miscellaneous toiletries. The store was conveniently across the street from our resort so we frequented it many times throughout our stay.

Once we were back, there was more relaxing and pool time. There wasn’t a sunset though, it was too cloudy. Disappointing, but how many beautiful sunsets could a girl expect?!

For dinner, we decided on a place that Jim and I had never been. Ivan’s at Catch a Falling Star. It was also within walking distance. This is another place I would highly recommend. We arrived and were seated right away. The waiter we had was amazing. He suggested drinks as we described what we wanted, and gave us excellent service throughout the evening. Again, the food was amazing. We drank and ate and watched other people enjoying themselves. There was the old hippie guy walking around lost. We watched him stumble around for a while before someone else from his table walked back from the restroom and found him. There were the group of women having what appeared to be a ladies night out. There was the young couple just being in love. The stars were all aligned that night for sure. It was a magical evening.

We made it back safe and sound and ended the evening with a nightcap at the bar. Are you surprised?
