Holding Your Vision

True story (or confession): I once hired a coach and then secretly dreaded the few days before we met. Not because I didn't like her, but because I hadn't done the "homework" we had agreed on.
I though for sure that when I told her she would shake her head in disappointment or say something like" Well, Ruthie, I guess you're just not committed enough." (For the record, she never said anything even close to that.)
Instead, she smiled and said, "So, what happened?" No judgement. No lecture. Just genuine curiosity. We talked it through, figured out where I had left the path and adjusted for the next week.
That's when I realized that having a coach isn't like having a boss. It's like having a co-pilot. They're not there to judge - they're there to help you navigate, especially when life gets busy.
And yes, they will hold you accountable. I once told a client I'd check midweek to see if you had booked the doctor appointment she had been putting off forever. Wednesday morning, I texted her and asked "Doctor booked?" She texted back "Calling now!" Sometimes we just need someone standing at the starting line with a stopwatch.
Here's another thing. Fear is normal. In face, fear can be a sign you're about to do something big that matters. But fear can also talk you out of starting at all. A coach helps you push past that voice, on e tiny action at a time.
The truth is... Coaches aren't magical beings who have it all figured out. We just know how to listen without judgment, ask the right questions, and walk with you across that wobbly bridge between where you are and where you want to be.
And the best part? On the other side, you'll look back and think, "Why was I so scared to cross?"
Let me help you cross over!
Much love,
Ruthie
