Postcards from Bali - even though I'm not there yet!

Do I look tired? I am. A little. I'm also so very excited. I'm sitting in a quiet area of the Los Angeles airport hanging out. It's about noon here and my flight to Singapore does not leave until 11:30 pm.
When I was sitting on the plane thinking about Bali, I was almost in tears. I never completely shut down but I can feel it happening already. And if feels good.
I didn't really sleep on the plane but was enjoying some of the sights I saw. Taking off from Nashville and seeing the greenery of Tennessee. Side note: I flew Southwest to LA. Row 3. No problems at all. I was able to put my luggage right above me.
Back to my story. As I was enjoying all this scenery, I was thinking about how nice it was to be able to just sit and look at things. As we were flying over the desert, I was looking down at the vast amount of nothingness. Wondering about the designs of the landscape. How they came to be. I guess it's kind of like Jim's caving. All the beauty he sees underground. I was seeing it from a different point of view. And then suddenly a little group of houes would appear. I thought about why they were there. What did the people do for a living. How did they travel over the desert. There were no roads.
We also flew over an area that had hundreds of windmills. That made me happy. Except I didn't see any of them spinning. I don't know enough about windmills to know why that would be but I'm sure there is a reason. I was just glad to see them all.
As we got closer, the smog started. And the buildings. And the houses. I know I was seeing it from high in the sky but wow it's crowded. Everyone is on top of each other. To go from flying over the desert to flying over LA was quite the contrast. I flown out her many times but I guess I was never sitting by a window watching the transformation happen. Crazy!
My slowing down is continuing. I'm sitting in the terminal people-watching. Wondering where everyone is going. I have a 17 hour flight coming up. I have a book, a magazine, a journal and I'll likely watch movies on the plane. I actually thought about making a list of the things I could do to pass the time. A schedule. 1 hour reading, watch 1 movie, etc. But I'm not going to. I'm just going to wing it!
I can't wait to see what Bali brings to me. Spirituality? Peace? Beautiful scenery? Beautiful people? Healing?
I can't wait to post photos from Bali 🩶
