The Power of Magic

Look for the magid
Look for the magid

A friend gave me this last night, and I absolutely love it.

“The world is full of magic things, waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”

This is how I always try to live my life.

I want to notice things.

The way the sky looks just before the sun goes down.

A

Savannah curled up beside me.

Talking with someone that makes me laugh.

The first cool morning that tells me fall is finally on its way (will that day ever get here?).

Going someplace I’ve never been.

Meeting a stranger who becomes a friend.

None of those things are extraordinary. They're just things.

But that’s kind of the point.

I try not to spend so much time waiting for the big things to make life wonderful.

There is so much wonder tucked into every single day.

Sometimes I forget the magic.

I get caught up in what’s wrong, what I wish were different, what I’m worried about, or what comes next. And suddenly my world gets very small.

Then something reminds me to look again.

And there it is.

The magic never actually disappeared.

I just stopped noticing it.

And once I remember to pay attention, somehow the world gets a little bigger again.

Keep sharpening your senses. Keep being curious. Keep looking for the magic.

It’s still there. ❤️
