As most of you know I started a yoga practice the beginning of May. It has been transformational for me and I now do yoga as often as I can . I average 3 times a week and wish I could do more.
There are too many aspects of yoga for me to name them all but here are a few (literally just a few) of the benefits I receive from my practice:
- Exercise
- Breathing techniques that calm my soul
- Community - I have made new friends that have similar beliefs, interests, etc.
- Connection with the Universe in so many ways!
- Relaxation
- Education
I know there are many more reasons but when I found Unity Yoga, I knew it was right for me.
The owner and each of my instructors offer something different. They are all amazing and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Staci, Nicki, Robbie, Kara, Tanja...... Love to you all!
I have had special different experiences with each of them and they are all amazing.
Today I want to share an experience I had during a class with Staci.
The class was "Slow Flow". Staci was amazing! At the end of class we normally do a silent Savasana and just "be" in the silence. However, during this class, Staci said she was going to do a Guided Meditation during Savasana. I wasn't sure how that would work but I am always open to new things.
At the end of our class, as we headed to Savasan, Staci began our meditation. She guided us through seeing a light shining through our Crown Chakra. This led to a light surrounding our body. Followed by a light going into our body. Followed by becoming the light. Then that light walked down a path to a wooden door. We walked through. We looked inside ourselves and asked a question that we needed an answer to. Then we looked in the room (which was filled with scrolls) and were guided to a scroll with the answer. (The picture in this post is similar but not exactly what I saw. I walked into a room that was more of a small wooden cabin with bookshelves like my picture but filled with scrolls). I immediately had my answer and was drawn to my scroll. I unrolled my scroll and read it. And instantly felt a deeper peace.
This is very personal but I want to share. My question was "What is the most important thing I need to do". My scroll read "Believe In Yourself".
It was such a peaceful, instantaneous answer. I didn't think about it but the answer just came to me when I read the scroll. It was extremely emotional for me and I loved it.
After class, I talk to some of the other students. Most, but not all, had similar experiences. I was still in a state of calm as I drove home.
Staci has a wonderful talent and has an energy around her that my energy is drawn to. I can't wait to dive deeper into guided meditations.
The Universe has a lot to offer if we just listen!
Love to all!
Ruthie
